Happy New Year!!!
Well everyone, 2016 has come and gone. It’s was a very eventful year. We welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed thousands of smiling guests and sadly had to say goodbye to our lovely Iguardo.
New Year’s Eve on Mackinac is magical and I was lucky enough to have been able to participate in it and share it with you.
Every year, a Christmas tree is set up and decorated on Main Street for all to see. There were hot chocolate and make you’re own s’more stands set up around town to fight away the chill for people walking the town and snowmobilers after trail riding.
At 11:59 dozens of people gathered out side of the Lilac Tree Inn to watch the annual New Year’s Eve turtle drop. The crowd counted down while the turtle was lowered to the ground. It was a very sweet event and a unique thing to witness. I for one am honored to have been able to see it.
We at the butterfly house are very excited to see all of the new adventures that 2017 may hold for us. We look forward to sharing some of them with you!
